Le nombre d'utilisateurs délaissant les serveurs PC au profit d'un dispositif de stockage connecté au réseau (NAS) pour la sauvegarde de leurs fichiers numériques (vidéos / photos / musique) ne cesse d'augmenter, en raison des atouts évidents du NAS, parmi lesquels une faible consommation d'énergie, une taille réduite et une facilité d'installation et de déploiement. Le Turbo NAS TS-110 de QNAP représente la solution de stockage à un disque la plus économique pour les proconsommateurs et utilisateurs SOHO à la recherche d'un NAS aux fonctionnalités convaincantes, à faible consommation d'énergie et d'une extrême fiabilité.
Doté d'un processeur Marvell 800 MHz et de 256 MB de mémoire RAM DDRII, la consommation électrique du Turbo TS-110 en marche n'est que de 7 W, bien inférieure à celle d’un PC, ou même d'une ampoule basse énergie.
Le Turbo NAS ne se contente pas d'être un serveur de stockage parfait, c'est également une station multimédia qui vous permet d'optimiser votre centre multimédia personnel. Le serveur multimédia UPnP/DLNA intégré (avec TwonkyMedia activé) du Turbo NAS prend en charge les consoles de jeux, par exemple la PS3 de Sony et la Xbox 360 de Microsoft, pour un service multimédia et fonctionne parfaitement avec les lecteurs multimédia numériques haute définition (HD) à système NFS.
Le Turbo NAS constitue également un centre de téléchargement idéal pour des téléchargements BT/ Emule/ FTP/ HTTP à haut débit. Vous pouvez utiliser la Station de téléchargement grâce à l'utilitaire QGET pour gérer vos tâches de téléchargement à distance sur le réseau local ou sur internet. De plus, le logiciel de gestion NAS du Turbo NAS, basé sur AJAX, utilise une interface web permettant de gérer toutes les applications du Turbo NAS de manière intuitive.
Le Turbo NAS offre des fonctionnalités que l'on retrouve davantage sur les serveurs NAS haut de gamme, y compris un service cible iSCSI intégré, la réplication à distance, le blocage des adresses IP non-autorisées basé sur protocole, le protocole SNMP (protocole simple de gestion de réseau) ainsi que deux caméras IP (achat en option) pour la surveillance en réseau.
